I can find no entries for the birth of James as recording of Births, Deaths and Marriages in Ireland of catholics did not begin until 1864, a further search for James in the surviving catholic parish records in County Monaghan prior to 1864 also returned no positive results.

James stayed 23 Princes Street, Govan at time of Marriage in 1876, witnesses where Edward Quigley and Anne Early.

James died aged 74 of Paralysis Agitans, Bronchitis, Cardiac Disease and Cardiac Failure. Informant was son John James who was living at 25 Logie Street, Govan.

James is on the 1881, 1891 and 1901 Censuses for Govan.

*1 Mary Ellen (1888) was born at 80 Harmony Row, Govan, she died at 132 Harmony Row, Govan aged 2yrs 7mths. Cause of death was Whooping Cough and Bronchio Pneumonia. Informant was father.

*2 Michael was born at 132 Harmony Row, Govan, he died at 50 Nethan Street, Govan aged 52yrs. Cause of death was Chronic Bronchitis (14yrs) and Myocarditis. Informant was brother Hugh who was living at 13 Sawmillfield Street, Maryhill, Glasgow. Michael's occupation was Shipyard Labourer. He was also unmarried.

*3 Kate was born at 132 Harmony Row, Govan, she died of a birth debility 6 days old.

In 1912 The Burgh of Govan was annexed to Glasgow.

Princes Street, Queen Street and Hamilton Street where all renamed to Vicerfield Street, Neptune Street and Nethan Street sometime in the 1930's.     More details
